The Umic Lab 1 incubator enables you to predict the biodegradation of plastic packaging waste in a real environment, based on laboratory measurements.
Umic Lab 1 is used as part of the following standards: EN 13432 :2000, EN 14046 :2003, ISO 14855 :1999, EN ISO 14855 :2004.
Umic Lab 1 is an automatic or manual instant measurementsystem:
- Carbon dioxide concentration
- Oxygen concentration
- Temperature
- Relative humidity
- Flow of incoming air using forced ventilation
Umic Lab1 means you can parameterise the test:
- # measurements per 24 hours
- # containers activated for the study
- Pressure
- Flow of incoming air using forced ventilation

>> Improve your level of comfort at work
- The integrated machine means you can programme measurements and give technicians improved comfort at work.
- The results are obtained more quickly than when using manual measurements.
>> Bypass the need for coding The software archives all of the data collected.
>> Reduce the margin of error Automatic measurements help to avoid interventions which might result in leakage or the instrusion of pathogenic agents and lead to measurement errors (for example, underestimating oxygen consumption).
>> Improve sound science Thanks to the air-conditioned chamber and controlled experiment conditions, the reproducibility and repeatability of the tests is enhanced.

- Filling the containers
- Connecting the containers
- Parameterising the test
- Starting the test
- Collecting the results during and at the end of the test

|
Easy- For the equipment and the software the emphasis is firmly on functionality.
Autonomous - The Umic Lab1 incubator runs continuously on automatic.
Accurate - The measurement sensors incorporate the latest technology and are extremely accurate. The machine reduces the need for human intervention.
Compliant - The temperature is kept at 58°C ± 2°C. Umic Lab 1 complies with European and international standards.
